Clipboard between computer and phone

Copy on your computer, paste on the device, and the other way round, so test data and links never have to be typed by hand.

Why: a 30-character promo code, a test card from the wiki, a link the app generated for sharing. Typing them on a phone is slow and error-prone; copying is instant.

  1. The Clipboard card shows whether sync is on and in which direction. A click on the card turns it on or off.
  2. Hover it to choose the direction:
    • Both ways: copy on either side, paste on the other;
    • To the device: only what you copy on the computer goes to the phone;
    • From the device: only what the app copies comes to your computer.
  3. To paste, tap a field on the phone and press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
  • Ctrl+V or Cmd+V on the screen always pastes, even with sync off. Sync is needed for the other direction and for the app’s own Paste button.
  • The panel keeps a short history of what went back and forth in this browser tab, with buttons to copy an entry again or save it as a text file.
  • Pasted text goes into the device’s clipboard quietly, without Android’s clipboard preview popping up.
  • Only the session’s owner gets clipboard sync: someone watching a shared session doesn’t receive your clipboard.
  • Nothing reaches the device on its own: the browser doesn’t let the page read your clipboard. Allow clipboard access for the portal in the browser, or just press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V on the screen.
  • There is no Clipboard card: you are watching someone else’s session, or this device doesn’t support it.
  • The app’s copy doesn’t arrive: check that the direction is Both ways or From the device.
